About Us

The Church of God 7th Day started in 1974 at 324 Webster Avenue, New Rochelle, New York. Some of the congregants were attending church in Brooklyn, Pastored by Bishop Aaron Reid. Their journey would take them from Westchester to Brooklyn for services on Sabbaths and during the week. It was difficult to find transportation for everyone at times, so, with the blessings of Bishop Reid and the other brethren, we started a work in Westchester. We started with a small group and God watered and bless this ministry.

The ministry prospered and over a few months the church grew to a large congregation. The first baptism was in 1975, and subsequently many baptisms followed thereafter. After six years at that location, we decided to purchase a building for more convenience. It didn’t take long to find a suitable location and the church was reestablished in April 1981, at their current location, 10 West Third Street, Mount Vernon, NY. We introduced ourselves to the community by handing out letters to let everyone know who we are and what we are all about. Today, the church stands with its original message which is to preach the Lord Jesus Christ, and bring souls to the Kingdom of God, while contributing to the community in a spiritual and physical manner at large.

OUR MISSION

The Church of God 7thDay (USA Conference) exist to reach the lost and empower believers for ministry, working together to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the world namely by Evangelism (nationally and internationally), social media and radio ministry and also through Christian education and working with our youths and community at large. This is a bible base institution and we believe that the bible is the word of God.

By doing all the above we hope to fulfill the Great Commission of Jesus Christ by making disciples for Him. We remain committed, receiving direction from the Holy Spirit to enable creativity and innovation.

We set out to maintain Christian love and unity, by helping the poor and needy and families within our churches and community. This goes for members and none members of our organisation.
